Wrap Adjustable
(BA points!!) What harness would you recommend?
I purchased a Comfort Wrap Adjustable Harness made by Coastal and on the tag it shows a dog with the harness on and the leash is attached at the shoulder. (this style -- http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http…
Then I took my 12 week old puppy outside (a 22lb Doberman) with the harness and realized that getting him to go in my direction while something has his attention (another dog, a passer by) is not quite as easier than a regular flat collar.
I've seen the harnesses that you attach your leash to the chest part + the collar. I think it's called The Easy Walk Harness. Should I have bought that one?

Or would anyone recommend the Gentle Lead instead?
My puppy does not pull insanely bad, but he just got his last boosters and we will begin to walk him in the park and I want to be able to have full control of him. When he gets his eyes on something, it's hard to break his attention.

May I observe that your dog's tendency to be distracted is not due to the type of harness/collar/leash used on him. The next time he behaves in this manner, it is best that you avoid pulling him away from his direction. Instead you should sharply command him to a "sit" position and make him "stay" until he calm down, then proceed in the direction of the walk.
Coming back to your other concern, I think the Easy Walk Harness will be the most comfortable for your dog. It is good to start him young on this type of leash so that he will get used to it as he grows.
