The only type of training collar should be a cloth martingale style, also known as Greyhound collars. Use a six foot lead - standard length. Most sighthounds are not food oriented so your praise is very important. It is also important that the person training be someone the hound likes. The reason most sighthounds flunk the popular SAFER test is because they will ignore anyone who isn't "their person".
