Help??? First Day of School?
Okay, so I'm going to be a freshman, and I have no idea what to wear for the first day! Please no one give me the whole "it doesn't matter what you wear. be yourself" deal. This is America people. Appearance is everything! Anyways. I was thinking of going with:

I didn't know HS students were wearing cardigans. Are you talking about the button-up sweaters?
This is what I would do, but it's just me..
I like the idea of flats, because they are incredibly cute, and you don't have to worry about what your feet look like. Also, you don't know whether the air conditioning will be cold.
You can't go wrong with skinny jeans, but your link didn't work, so I couldn't see the ones you have in mind..
I looked at the top, and I don't think it goes with a classic cardigan. I don't know what styles are out this year, but I saw a lot of the baby-doll style last year. Personally I don't really like it, and I think that on the first day you should present yourself more neutral. Jeans and maybe a couple of layered plain items, like tanks or T's. I like a tank top with a boat top cotton shirt over it, so the tank shows. Maybe just a plain T. When in doubt about an outfit, dark jeans and a crisp white T look clean, and don't make a huge fashion statement.
If you want the extra layer, a cardigan, sweater or open shirt could add some color.
Then you can see what everyone else is wearing.
