How can I look good in a summer dress if I have boyish legs?

I have boyish legs. I'm about 5'4'', so that doesn't help. My calves are muscular, and my thighs are too. I want to wear a dress so bad but I can't. I look horrible in them, especially because I would have to wear flip flops or flats with it. Any ideas? How short/long should the dress be?

Knee length is a really flattering size ( something that covers the knee) and wear some shoes with a slight heel as it lengthens the leg if possible. I have 'footballer's legs' too and I have found this suits me.Stay away from mini skirts!!
