This is not the main idea of the book, but the four children's guardian, Benjamin Wolff (Say if you love the name, I know I do) has an assitant, Ms. Marian Hallman. Anyway, they have a romantic history (Malcolm, their son, is a big part of the story). Throughout the whole series, little hints emerge--and in the last book, they get married.
