Puppy Crying?
We've had our puppy for about a week and a half now but at night time she still cries. She sleeps in a crate in our kitchen with food and water in one end and blankets (that we rubbed on her mother to get scented) a puppy bed and toys in the other end. I've red up on all sorts of webpages the "rules" of curing puppy crying. I put a towel over the door, I leave a night light on, have tried the radio and we never go and pick her up when she's crying, just stick our fingers/hands through the cage to comfort her. But she still cries to the point of yelping. Does anyone have any advice additional to what I already have found or do we just have to wait it out?
You could bring her up and let her sleep in your room. Theres nothing wrong with this. If you don't want her to keep sleeping in your room all her life, just move her to the kitchen when she has settled down and grown out of crying.
The one I use and it always works is - Give her a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel and a ticking alarm clock. (where she cant reach it)
Make sure she is getting enough excersise during the day to wear her out at night.
Do not however, bring her for walks until she has had ALL her vaccinations. Just run her around in the garden.
