Comfortis Flea Treatment for Dogs - Getting Rid of Fleas the Easy Way
Two signs you have a flea infestation at home - flea bites, and pets scratching themselves more often than they usually do.
If you don't want to call pest control for fear that chemicals may damage your furniture, or harm your garden, and risk your children's health, there's a natural way to clean out fleas in your carpet and upholstery. First, get your vacuum cleaner, make sure it has a vacuum bag in it. Make sure the long cord is untangled, as you'll be vacuuming a lot. Vacuum thoroughly your upholstery - it's usually better to begin with that.
You should place them in a room away from your pets, in case your dogs do not like the roaring hum of a vacuum.
You will also be using Borax, to be sprikled on your upholstery, so you may as well keep your pets away.
Second, get a box of Borax, punch holes on top of the box, and sprinkle it over the carpet, and carpeted areas, the pet's bedding, and the upholstery. Sprinkle large amounts, liberally.
It's best if you don't hold back.
Third, with a broom, brush the Borax evenly over everything else you sprinkled it on.
Be sure you sprinkle enough to cover surfaces evenly.
Fourth, let the Borax rest for forty-five minutes, or longer than that, just to be sure. You'll notice that the Borax also deodorizes your upholstery and carpet.
Let it set and wait for the fleas to dry up and die.
Fifth, now get the vacuum again, vacuum all those areas with Borax all over them.
Check if you need to put in a new vacuum bag; do so if needed.
The fleas will have died out and dried up and will have been vacuumed. When finished, make sure you wrap the vacuum bag in a plastic, seal it, and throw it away.
