How can you make homemade guinea pig exercise equipment?
Playpen, exercise wheel, anything for my little piggie to exercise on. Preferably made of everyday items that you would normally throw out. Just anything that can help my piggie loose some weight, she's fat!!!

DO NOT GIVE YOUR GUINEA PIG AN EXCERSICE WHEEL (OR BALL)!!!!!! They can KILL, or at the very least cause spinal and foot injuries, possibly paralysing your guinea pig. The reason this happens to guinea pigs is because their spines aren't like most other rodent's (e.g. a gerbil or hamster's) because it doesn't bend back round, only forward. and the bars can catch the nails and hurt the feet.
You can get some chicken wire or mesh, and make sure there are no sharp points or edges, and make sure it is at least a foot high, as guinea pigs CAN jump, and they lay this on the floor (if you are worried about your floor, then lay down some old towels or newspapers, as guinea pigs usually give no warning as to when they go to the toilet! You must keep an eye on him/her, and keep him/her in there for about 15 mins a day.
You could even do this option on the grass, making sure she has close supervision by you at all times. The mesh needs to be a little higher for this one, and, guessing you couldn't afford a proper outdoor run to go on the grass, then your guinea pig will have to not be out there for long, and not at all by itself.

Your piggie will enjoy life much more if you can get one, she'll be out every warm, dry day for a good few (or more) hours! It will also mean you get to see him more, taking him in or out after his play and also if you do a lot of work in the garden. Guineas pigs need lots of comapny from others and humans because they are very sociable animals. They cannot die of depression, but will never be happy if you don't see him/her at least once a day.
REMEMBER: You should NEVER put your guinea pig on a diet, maybe you can put a little less pellets/cereal in the bowl (I do about half in the morning, and half in the evening). It will just make him/her more unhealthy, and possibly kill him/her.
