Has anyone tried "pedi-paws" on their dogs nails?
Has anyone tried this? Does it actually give a little trim? How did your dog react?
Pedi Paws is nothing more than a dremel. If you choose this method of filing your dog's nails, you'll be much better off purchasing a cordless dremel from Home Depot (only use the sanding bands). With a dremel, you can see exactly what you're doing whereas with the Pedi Paws, your line of site is completely obscured.
It takes some time for a dog to get used to the dremel and the trick is to go very slowly. Please visit www.doberdawn.com and look down on the left hand column towards the bottom. There is a really good tutorial on how to dremel your dog's nails.
I've been dremelling my dogs' nails for the past 20 years and highly recommend the method. You just need to be aware that it normally takes the dogs some time to get used to that method.
