what can i use to get him to behave on walks?
I have a miniature schnauzer and his horrible on walks he pulls and then it gets worse when he sees another dog i dont know what to do i have a gentle leader(i dont want people thinking his agressive so i stopped using it) and harness nylon adjustable slip collar his submissive in the house and listens to me but wants he outside he pulls and goes in front of me i pull him back and try to keep him at my side i need a collar that will stay up the highest part of his neck but the one i have falls down can you recommend a collar that will stay at the highest part of the neck And i know he needs exercise i run him and take him on trails i also play fetch with him i just need something to keep him under control before i do that because i want to enjoy walking him and any advice would be welcome i
i take him for walks every day or else he would go bathroom in the house that's common sense and i do exercise him
I've taken an obedience class for dogs. As soon as he starts out, even just to get ahead of you, you have to pull him back, take your free hand and pin him down at the neck and hold him there for a few seconds. This is establishing dominance. Let him back up and pat him to show you still love him and try again. You have to repeat this process until he realizes that YOU are the leader and he must listen to you.
