What do you think of this collar?

I have a Doberman and I really love the 2" collars. I also love the ones with spike studs. I found a 2" spike studded leather collar that I'd love for him.

But someone has already told me how "nasty" he looks with a chain collar (3-rank chain link, not a choker or training collar) and I don't want people to think he's a "status symbol".

I have some little dogs, as well, and they both have leather spike-studded collars. I'd love if my Dobie could have the same style, but really don't want people to think I have him as a status symbol. My family already think that's why I got him in the first place.

If your male Dobermann is black and rust then you would have encountered the ignorance that abounds in the minds of many people that as a breed it is born predisposed to be vicious, and parents calling their children in parks or gathering them close on paths, owners picking up small dogs or people crossing the road or direction when walking their dog.

I like the collar and if you have earned the respect of your male Dobermann with consistent firm fair leadership, and he is clear that hard on the heels of unacceptable behavior would be a strong enough correction to stop it, then he will be a good ambassador for the breed regardless of what collar he is wearing.
