How do you handle dog poop in your yard?
Do you let the dog go all over and then clean up after him or do you train him to go in a specific part of the yard, and how would you do that? I just think dog poop all over is gross and I'd like to know how to handle it when we get our house. Thanks.
Definately in one spot in the yard. I agree it doesn't need to be all over the yard! Whenever you take your dog out to potty put him on a leash and lead him to the spot where you want him to go. It would be preferable to have some distinct marker to have him go by like a tree in the corner or something he can easily recognize. Praise him when he goes. Like training him anything else it might take a bit, but eventually he will know to go in that spot and go right to it when you let him out. You can even teach them to potty on command if you want to which I think is pretty neat. You can't get around cleaning up though as there would be a huge pile in that one spot after a while. You could use a shovel if you're queasy about using baggies over your hand and picking it up that way.
