how much exercise/play can a puppy handle?
im planning on getting a 5 month or older puppy, and would LOVE to bring him outside where we have loads of grass to play on, and just go nuts, hahaha..... how much exercise are most puppies able to take? (its going to be a German shepherd or golden retriever)
and what is the "avoid bloat" rule? how long before s/he eats should i wait to play? and how long should i wait after?
truth: shes going to sleep in a crate, probably in my room or the living room.
there is a lot of shade, its like a field, but there are trees in a big circle around it! just like t hat, i dont think they were planted, i think there just like that!
well it got to 103 degrees the other day, but once we start have "normal" weather, lol.
Cas at six months could and did out last both of us and several neighbors and loved it. But the heat warning is a good one. As far as the "bloat" rule goes, you can't stop the hound from playing or running or whatever else he/she wants to do even right after eating. She may puke it up but probably not. They are not like us. They go whenever they are able/allowed. You are in for an amazing treat and sounds like you are ready for it. Please don't make him/her an outside dog though. She is part of the family. It is way worth a little extra vacuuming to have the love that these guys give. Best of luck.
