How can I walk a dog in the rain and mud?

So, I want to walk my dog, but the weather is screwing everything up. He's going to get mud all over me if I try to walk him. So, what the shell am I supposed to do? No dog raincoat.

Should I just wear rags or what?
I bet nobody can answer this question.
Fyi, I am NOT a neat freak! -_-

Yes, you probably will get muddy. Dogs are not for neat freaks for the most part. Wear old clothes and a rain coat and change when you get home. Some dogs love the rain. Friends of mine had a lab who slept in her water bowl as pup with her chin resting on the rim. She loved to walk in the rain. Some dogs hate getting wet. If the dog is happy to get wet, get out and walk him. It will be good for you and him both.
