Dog Baby
My dog baby hurt her legs, and she won't walk on them what could I do?
How old is she? If she is very young, vets usually don't do anything. I just accidentally stepped on my 7wk old puppy's foot or lower leg last week, and the vet said to just leave it alone and keep her confined to a crate until it healed. He didn't even x-ray it, just felt it and chose not to do anything other than give it time to heal. In very young puppies the bones are still soft and don't break like they do in older dogs.
If your dog is older, then your vet might choose to cast it or pin it. Pinning it is not a good option unless the skin is already broken from a fracture because it opens the skin and introduces bacteria.
Your best option would be to have your vet evaluate the problem.
