Temperature gun with removable display/remote display?
I have a (IR) temperature gun -one like you can find anywhere these days- but I would like one with a remote display. It would be connected by regular wires. I just want to have the sensor at one place and the display about 8 feet away. I search the internet, but no luck. Anyone know where I can get one or a way to mod one without trial and error?
Nothing special here, can be larger and only want to monitor something from about 20f to 250f
I'd try Omega.com they have a number of options.
One that is quite versatile is: http://www.omega.com/ppt/pptsc.asp?ref=OS-DT8855W It provides a 1mV/deg analog signal that would allow using a digital multimeter as a wired remote display, or it can provide a wireless connection to a PC, but at $279 it might be a bit expensive.
http://www.omega.com/ppt/pptsc.asp?ref=OS643 is only $85 (+ $9 for analog output cable) it also has 1mV/deg analog output allowing wired remote display with a multimeter, no wireless on this one
