Swimming - Is It Your Answer To Getting In Shape?
When you start thinking about starting a new fitness program, you want to consider which type of cardio workout to do. By directing your focus on your efforts on particular muscles and flexibility, your swimming technique will improve and, along with it, your motivation to keep on with your swimming exercise program. A big plus that you will get is developing a great swimmer's body which will give you a feeling of good health.

Best of Krezip $9.99 A swan song for Krezip, the band's 2009 best-of collection does a good job of explaining why they were such a hit on the Benelux scene, though no further. The record offers an hour of melodic alternative rock, and if this description is as vague as it gets, it's all the more fitting in this case. It's possible to draw a lot of analogies to Krezip's sound, from American post-grunge (the Matchbox 20 shadow looms high) to Pink's stabs at rock music and Scissor Sisters' dance-pop, but the best fit would be Belgium's K's Choice -- that female-fronted band that had its 15 minutes of fame in the mid-'90s with the hits "Not an Addict" and "Everything for Free." Krezip are less dramatic, but the bands share the general approach -- radio-friendly, mildly angsty verse-chorus songs with simple guitar textures and a sprinkling of piano. Of course, since this is a best-of, we also get some stylistic variety, most notably piano and string ballads that sound exactly the way one would expect them to, which could have been recorded by anyone from Avril Lavigne to Amy Lee. Other treats include a quiet guitar track spoiled by loud singing, an over-polished pop-punk song, and a surprisingly genuine jazz cut with some great crooning. Jacqueline Govaert's throaty, tomboyish vocals are an easy sell, and the songs are well-arranged, but still, the record is ambiguous when it comes to hooks, which are the main reason to listen to this sort of music, anyway. Basically, the hooks are there, and they are pretty big, but they are obviously recycled from somebody else's songs, so it's hard to recall them once the music's over. As far as unoriginal bands go, Krezip are great, but it's worth remembering that a copy is rarely better than the original. ~ Alexey Eremenko |

Entertainment Best $22.99 The second of three best-of compilations released by Exile in 2008, Entertainment Best covers the higher-energy, higher-tempo ground of the band. Missing here almost entirely are the ballads. Indeed, the album opens with a thrashing, sludgy guitar/rap piece that wouldn't have been out of place in a Mortal Kombat soundtrack. The next few tracks move into R&B territory, developing some worthwhile vocal harmonies that don't often make it through the barriers of the band's main arrangements. They get a chance to warble and croon here and take advantage of it -- if you haven't been sure whether Exile can actually sing or not (or if they just danced around, as is occasionally the case with the highly manufactured, image-conscious boy bands), songs like "Stay" are the proof that they can indeed. They also take a few stabs at New Jack Swing here (indeed, on the track "New Jack Swing"), and though dated as a style, the band performs it well. There are crosses with rock in the collaborative (with Glay) track "Scream" that come off fairly well. There are straight-up dance tracks, as in "24 Karats" (using Bach Logic's production for credibility). If someone was wondering how Exile, often sounding just like any of the other boy band out there, could have grown such a following, the answer is in this compilation. The band may specialize in more soul/R&B work than others, but it's their ability to fit the more energetic songs in without falling victim to the idol-based pop that so much J-pop does that really sets the band apart. This is easily the album to pick up for the new listener. As an added bonus, the album comes with a DVD of the bandmembers as an animated samurai crew. ~ Adam Greenberg |

Ultimate Dance Party: The Best Of $7.99 This best-of edition in the long-running Ultimate Dance Party compiles a variety of the most popular songs from previous editions along with a few surprises. The surprises include Expos?'s "Point of No Return" and Taylor Dayne's "Tell It to My Heart." Unlike the other 17 songs on this collection, these two date from the late '80s rather than the late '90s, long before BMG began the Ultimate Dance Party series. Yet these two songs fit in surprisingly well despite their age, sounding very modern yet heavily infused with nostalgia for a time when dance music was still evolving. Elsewhere, this collection rounds up few surprises: gigantic hits like Snap!'s "Rhythm Is a Dancer," Haddaway's "What Is Love," Ace of Base's "Beautiful Life," the Notorious B.I.G.'s "Mo Money Mo Problems," Next's "Too Close," and many, many more without throwing in novelty hits like "Macarena." Each of these featured songs carry substantial history with them, infused with as much nostalgia as the two late-'80s songs. It's hard not to remember random nights long ago when you were dancing carelessly to these songs with youthful abandon. These were anthems to many dance parties, for sure, and though they probably best belong in the past -- they make you feel kinda old! -- it's incredible fun listening to them on special occasions.
