Bark Stop
Help! My dog won't stop barking!?
I have a corgi, he is almost 2. He never used to bark at all much really, and I had him trained pretty well with a "Hush!" command when he did.
I changed shifts at work to graveyard shift, so now I sleep all day during the time he used to be alone. My boyfriend works day shift hours so he's never alone much anyway to get too bored.
He will stand in the back yard while I'm trying to sleep and bark for hours on end. I've even gone outside to see what he's barking at, and there is nothing there (that I can see/smell anyway).
I don't like locking him in the bedroom with me or in the house so he won't bark, which is my current fix. I like him to have his freedom during the day. I don't want to have to resort to a bark collar or muzzle (but I will if its the best solution).
Anybody have any ideas on how to make the barking stop?
You may have to retrain him to not bark during the day, because he isn't used to you being there so he may be getting confused. Go back and do basic training of the 'hush' command and he should pick it up in no time.
