how to train my peekapoo not to bark so loud and so much or even at all?
i have a Pekingnese/poodle mix (peekapoo). shes about 5 years old. i think shes goin blind because she barks at everyone even my parents and myself when we come near. she doesnt stop till we talk. anyway ive tried training her not to bark so much but it hasnt worked at all. i tried anti stress pills but i hate giving her pills. i think she would be much happier if she wasnt so scared of every noise or movement. any tips how to accomplish the anti barking training?
Firstly a vet check is paramount to see if she has a problem with her eyes or any other medical condition.
If you think its causing her stress the last thing you want to do is cause her to be more afraid so NEVER squirt her or spray her with anything (no one should do that to any dog anyway). For stress try a DAP defuser or DAP collar they are very good at calming stressed dogs, they are not pills or adversives.
I would tell everyone that as soon as they are going to approach her to talk to her quietly and calmly, when she stops barking give her her fav treat or toy.
Hang in there but please get her vet checked as soon as possible.
